The Stained Glass Doors Company are proud to present our new pitch pine range of stained glass front doors, now also available in Solid Engineered Hardwood .These doors are manufactured using LVL (Laminated Veneered Lumber). LVL or more commonly known as engineered timber is a modern method of construction that is economical with the use of natural timber resources. The main parts & rails of the door are usually constructed using solid strips/blocks of timber , which are then glued and then clamped together. They are then faced with a veneer and edged with a solid timber lipping. The benefits of using engineered construction doors over more traditional methods are; The door has a much more uniform look (no mismatched colours/panels, everything matches), It is far more unlikely to twist, split (we do not get problems with panels splitting) and possibly the most important reason is that it is much more Eco friendly!

We have copied original Victorian/Edwardian doors incorporating the Victorian/Edwardians sense of proportion, i.e. wide midrail and bottom rails and side rails, lacking in mass produced (tropical hardwood doors) These doors are made in the traditional way using strong mortice and tenon joints.

Pitch pine is an excellent timber for exterior use and has been used in shipbuilding for centuries notably on the hulls of Scottish fishing boats, so will definitely stand up to the weather.

They can be painted or may be oiled for a more contemporary look with chrome fittings. The stained glass panels are made using traditional methods using hand floated glass which has all the characteristics of antique glass i.e. bubbles and fissures.

We can supply the door only or complete with stained glass panels or ready to hang i.e. painted or oiled complete with fittings.
